Summary

The intranet at Wolters Kluwer is an important channel for internal communication between the various departments and locations of the publishing group. The old platform was in urgent need of replacement after seven years: it hindered flexible collaboration and generated content management overhead for the IT department.

Wolters Kluwer worked with IT partner Cronos to install a centralized portal based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007. The objectives are to faciltate retrieval of relevant information and support collaboration via team sites, increasing self-service content management and efficiency, and unburdening IT. The familiar look-and-feel of the MOSS environment significantly lowered the barrier for users.
